Welcome to the Cinema’s Sky Room and Newsday Cinema Community Café

A vital addition in 2000, the Café serves the varied needs of Cinemagoers.

The Café is open daily from 1:30 to 10pm.

The Cinema experience:
To meet with friends – make new ones – before and after the film
Receptions and meeting with filmmakers and guest speakers
Video presentations and panel discussions
Workshops, seminars, and music concerts



The Philosophy of the Cinema:
Films that enrich the heart and mind – food and drink to nourish the body and spirit
(many are chemical- and pesticide-free).

Some Favorites:
Linda’s Eat Well and Be Well Organic Vegetarian Kitchen featuring hearty soups, good karma chili, baked tofu sticks, almond-rice burgers, and tofu egg salad.
Also on the menu:
Skorpios’ Greek spinach pies, garden salads, potato pancakes, mini pizzas, and a variety of knishes. Delicious snacks include pretzels, assorted dried fruits and nuts, chocolate-covered nuts and raisins and chocolate bars from Chip'n Dipped Cookie Company. Desserts include scrumptious pie bars, brownies, and cakes from Cake & Pate. Our beverages include Apple & Eve juices, along with a variety of sodas. And, of course, the necessity for all moviegoing – freshly made popcorn.
